Qualiteach
Education & Ecology Training comprises
a small team of botanists, terrestrial and marine surveyors, education specialists, trainers and
writers with a wide breadth of experience and knowledge covering a
range of subjects and areas. With qualifications and experience in
education, biological recording, writing, teaching and practical
environmental skills, we bring a wealth of experience and skills to
the table, including media and photography. We specialise in
terrestrial and marine ecology.
We regularly participate in BSBI
botanical recording meetings.
Qualiteach Education & Ecology Training is proud to support sea
safety as an RNLI Local Ambassador.
A
professional member of the Marine Biological Association, a member
of the Society for Education and Training and an associate member of
the British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council,
botanist
and independent ecological and education consultant, Lorna (Mem.MBA, MSET,
QTLS), has over 25 years experience of teaching and writing
educational resources. Lorna is an OCR GCSE Natural History panel
member. She is also a CIEEM (Chartered Institute of
Ecology and Environmental Management) Trainer (terrestrial and
marine), an FSC Associate Tutor and qualified
assessor, internal verifier and advisor with Cert.Ed and QTLS
status. Lorna has conducted many wetland vegetation surveys, water quality
surveys, Sphagnum moss and wildflower surveys over the years and
provides detailed reports with explanations and advice on management
and eradication of invasive species. Lorna is proud to have taken
part in the award winning Cheshire Meres and Mosses Project. Lorna
is also a Regional Coordinator for the Sea Watch Foundation
(Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy). Lorna has shared her
passion for marine wildlife through radio show interviews on Calon
FM, by encouraging wider public participation in
marine mammal watches, Cetacean ID &
Survey
training for the Sea Watch Foundation and seal
ecology training for CIEEM. Lorna has also written blogs for
BBC Springwatch on the marine environment. Lorna is also a Senior
Assessment Specialist with an examining board. Lorna
supports the work of
the BSBI, Forest Educational Network, National Biodiversity Network,
The Species Recovery Trust, The Freshwater Habitats Trust and the
National Plant Monitoring Scheme.

Richard is co-founder and trustee of the Seal Welfare
Organisation, a training and media associate and navigational and
mapping advisor for Qualiteach Education and Ecology Training. He has 21 years
experience within teaching having Adult Further
Education teaching qualifications and experience in surveying, GPS,
mapping and navigation.
Richard specialises in navigation and rapid
habitat assessments.
As an enthusiastic biological recorder
he relishes
discovery and recording of scarce
or rare key indicator species and is proud to have been part
of the award winning Meres and Mosses Project with the
Cheshire Wildlife Trust. Richard is also an experienced
wildlife and events photographer, proof-reader and editor
and a Marine Mammal Medic/instructor with British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).
Richard is also the designated first aider for Qualiteach Education
& Ecology Training, specialising in remote (outdoor) emergency
care (REC qualified).
